Marc Zawel

MBA Class of 2010
Came to Chapel Hill from Washington, DC

Hi there – I’m Marc, a second-year MBA student here at Kenan-Flagler.

I’m originally from Purchase, New York and graduated from Cornell University in 2004. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety roles in both the digital media and Internet industry: as a reporter for People magazine and a blogger for the Washington Post; as the author of a best-selling college admissions guidebook, Untangling the Ivy League; and, most recently, as one of the first 20 employees at RevolutionHealth, a start-up health information website (funded by AOL co-founder Steve Case).

At UNC, I’m double concentrating in both Entrepreneurship and Marketing and am the chair of the Admissions Advisory Board and the VP of the Carolina Entrepreneurial Fellows (CEF) program. I’m also serving a year-long internship as the Young Entrepreneur in Residence at NC IDEA, a venture capital fund in the Research Triangle Park.

In my spare couple of minutes, you’ll likely find me jogging, blogging or chowing down on Carolina barbecue. I’m also an avid traveler, having most recently spent a month traveling through Southern Africa.
