MBA Class of 2009
Came to Chapel Hill from Morocco
Originally from Pennsylvania, I graduated from Dickinson College in 2000. After 2 years with the Justice Department as a paralegal, I moved overseas to pursue a career in economic development in Morocco.
I lived and worked in Morocco for the past 5 years, assisting artisans to increase their revenues. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I served as a grassroots consultant for local artisans. After finishing my Peace Corps service, I was hired as Marketing Manager for an American non-profit, Aid to Artisans. With Aid to Artisans, I worked with 3000 artisans including rural cooperatives and urban exporters. I designed and administered marketing trainings specifically targeted to the variety of producers with whom we worked. I also organized both local and international sales events.
I spent my last year in Morocco working as an Independent Consultant for both Aid to Artisans and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a large US government funder. I lead projects in Morocco as well as Egypt, Mali and Burkina Faso developing broader strategies to assist crafters.
This summer I interned with Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in Jacksonville, Florida. I worked on both marketing and competitive strategy projects for Acuvue contact lenses.
I speak French and Moroccan Arabic fluently and enjoy travel. I have 1 younger brother and two cats.
